Lana Ryder

Lana Ryder has been a holistic health practitioner for 23 years. As a former faculty member of the Lancaster School of Massage and the York campus of Baltimore School of Massage, Lana is a pioneer in sound therapy and highly-sought speaker and clinician for many organizations including Bucknell University, Penn State-Harrisburg campus, Millersville University, HACC-Main campus, Pinnacle Health Women’s Day, Pa. State AMTA-massage convention and AMTA-Massage local chapter, American Holistic Nurses Assn, Celebration of Life Expo, Spirit of Oneness Expo, Sage Continuing Education Center, Reiki Learning Place, WGCB-TV, HealthTalk Radio Network and SoundTalk radio program with co-host Sound Healer, Author and Artist Jill Mattson, among others. Lana is the former Coordinator of Massage and Body Therapies at “WellSpan’s Center for Mind Body Health of York Hospital,” and former Founder/Director of “Tree of Life Healing Associates, LLC”, a holistic wellness and educational center in York, PA.

Lana is author of Soundly Nourished: Using the Energies of Food and Sound for Health, and has published numerous articles on holistic healing, stress management, bodywork, energy and sound therapies. She is creator of Introduction to the Fundamentals: Using Sound, Voice and Music in the Healing Arts, ReikiSound™, SonicMassage, ReikiVoice, and Heartful Marketing™ courses as well as the original student manuals for each.   She is a graduate of Lancaster School of Massage(1995), Institute for Integrative Nutrition(2011), and has completed studies with some of the nation’s best educators in alternative healing therapies since 1968. Her training and experience of 25 years in allopathic medicine as well as her background as worship director, professional vocalist and assistant voice teacher also contribute to her multi-faceted approach in both practicing and teaching sound therapy. And finally, it’s in her genes. Her ancestry includes many professional musicians and health care professionals. She is honored to carry on that tradition in a professional balance of art, science and intuitive gifts as a sound practitioner and teacher of her four sound therapy classes. She has practiced sound therapy with hundreds of clients, gathering anecdotal evidence over the years both with individual sessions and in group sound meditations. Professional memberships include American Massage Therapy Association, American Association of Drugless Practitioners, Harmonic Therapy Association, Sound Healers Association, International Holistic Health Coaches, and International Association of Reiki Practitioners. In the past she served as Volunteer Coordinator for Joy Ufema’s York House Hospice in York, Pa for AIDS patients, Board of Directors for Women’s Network of York, Business and Sports Night Committees for the York Area Chamber of Commerce. She is scheduled to complete her first sound therapy recording in May 2018. Lana lives in Lancaster, Pa with her husband Irwin. Between the two of them they have four children and seven grandchildren.
